I am receiving feedback on this blog about my self-drive trip around Botswana from quite a few readers, including one from Stephan de Lange who is a Television video editor, Freelance 4×4 Specialist Tour Guide and Photographer, who will soon be writing a book about Botswana himself. These emails include very useful feedback for self-drive travellers, so I will post them here on the blog to share their advice with you and ensure you all benefit from their pearls of wisdom. To read these go to the page called ‘Comments by email’ by clicking on the page link to the right.

Hi Kathy, thanks for your very kind response on my blog! Your Botswana-travel-story has been very helpful for planning our trip in Botswana. Our visit of Namibia and Botswana will be the first step of our one- year world tour, and no surprise: we are looking forward to it!

    Dear Kathy,

In May and June, we have travelled in Botswana and your travel report has been a great help! If we were wondering which road we would take or where to stay we said to each other: “What does Kathy say about it”. E.g. after 9 days camping in the bush, we stayed in the Moana Hotel and is was wonderful.

We have been travelling for 2 months now and are about to leave for Asia next Sunday. Our blog is in Dutch, but you may understand some words and photo’s most times do not need any comments.

Thanks a lot and all the best, regards, Regine & Frits, Leiden, The Netherlands

I discovered this blog several years ago and was amused when I read about Peter the mechanic from Nata. Peter is a good friend of mine who now lives in Australia. Wonderful and accurate description of Peter.
